Steve had a career lasting almost twenty years. He has played for Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers.
He was capped 24 times by England and played in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico including the famous Maradona “Hand of God” game against Argentina, at the end of which Steve swapped shirts with Maradona, a prize he stills keeps to this day.
During his career Steve played for many of the top English managers in football including Brian Clough, Sir Bobby Robson, Terry Venables, Howard Wilkinson, David Pleat, Gerry Francis, Graham Taylor and Roy McFarland.
