Sammy Mcllroy

Former professional footballer who has played for Manchester United, Stoke City, Manchester City, Bury, Preston North End and Northern Ireland at international level.
Sammy had 10 seasons with Manchester United making over 300 appearances and scoring more than 50 goals.
In 1982, he moved to Stoke City for a record club fee of £350,000, and stayed there for 3 seasons, making over 130 appearances.
He then went on to have brief spells at Manchester City, Bury and Preston North End.
Sammy played for Northern Ireland across 15 years, winning 88 caps and scoring 5 goals.
He began his managerial career as a player-coach at Preston North End, then went on to manage Ashton United, Northwich Victoria, Macclesfield Town, Morecombe and for three years he managed Northern Ireland.
