Robert Jones MBE

Rob always had a desire to succeed on the sporting field and was a school boy International at both Cricket and Rugby. At 17, whilst still in school, he was invited to join Swansea Rugby Club where his senior rugby career took off.
He gained his first senior International Welsh cap in 1986 and went on to win 54 caps, five as captain and also represented the British Lions, Barbarians and other representative clubs during a 17 year playing career. In 1996 he was awarded an MBE for his services to the game.
Since retiring from the game, Rob has coached professionally with the Llanelli Scarlets regional team and has a successful media career with the BBC and the Welsh Language TV channel S4C.
