Mike Atherton OBE

Michael Atherton was a right-handed opening batsman for Lancashire and England and he captained England in 54 Test matches.

Mike played for Lancashire in 336 First Class matches and scored over 20,000 runs, and also played in 287 Limited Over games scoring over 9,000 runs. He also played in 115 Test matches and 54 One-Day Internationals for England.

Since retiring from playing he has written for the Sunday Telegraph and been the cricket correspondent for the Times newspaper. He worked as a commentator for Channel 4 for four years and is currently part of Sky Sports award winning cricket coverage.
