Mark Regan MBE

Mark Regan MBE was one of rugby‘s true characters. A tenacious and hard working hooker, Mark made his england debut in 1995 against South Africa. Eight years later he was a World Cup Winner, and was a finalist again in 2007. After beating France in Paris in 2008, Mark retired from international rugby, with an impressive and well deserved 46 caps behind him.

At the age of eight he was introduced to the game at Keynsham RFC before moving on to St Brendan’s Old boys minis, and then played through Bristol’s age group sides. His talent and focused attitude were evident as he was selected to represent England 16 Group, 18 Group, Colts, Students, U21’s, Emerging Players and England A before winning his first full cap in ’95.

In addition to the stellar 2003 world cup victory, another career highlight for mark was touring South Africa with the legendary Lions in 1997, when they won the series 2-1. Not only a star on the international stage, Mark has always been a high quality club man and consistent favourite of the fans. An exceptionally friendly individual, proud and loyal, he made a significant impact on and off the pitch at the clubs that he turned out for.

He starred at Bath (1997-2002) playing 93 competitive matches where he became a Heineken Cup winner. Mark then did a stint at Leeds Tykes where he helped them beat Bath in the Powergen Cup final, before returning to the West Country and Bristol where he played out the rest of his career, but not before helping then finish third in the Premiership.

A World cup winner, Grand Slam winner, Triple Crown winner, Lions series winner, European cup winner, Mark’s credentials speak for themselves. A personality with flair and full on fun, he’s a very popular guest at all sorts of functions. Thanks to his high quality communication skills, the corporate sector book him frequently to get an insight into what it takes to be a winner, and build for success.

Not being a shy and retiring type, Mark is also a regular on the after Dinner speaking circuit, sharing wonderful anecdotes from his time at the top of the game. He’s also a popular invite for golf days, private dinners and rugby coaching sessions.
