Lee Byrne
Lee Byrne was born in Bridgend in Wales and began his career playing for Bridgend Athletic. He then played for Tondu RFC, Bridgend, Llanelli and The Scarletts and now retains the position of Full Back for the Ospreys.
His talent was recognised early on, earning him a Welsh Schools cap. He made his senior debut in 2005 and in January 2008 was selected in Warren Gatland’s Grand Slam winning squad, playing every game of the successful campaign. He was awarded Man of the Match in the match versus Italy, where he scored two tries.
In domestic rugby, Lee continues to go from strength to strength as a player and has now secured the Full Back position at Ospreys on a full time basis. He was a major part of the Ospreys EDF Energy Cup winning team in 07/08 and plays on a regular basis in the 08/09 team
