Jimmy Bullard

Jimmy Bullard

Jimmy joined West Ham United in 1999, however he failed to make an appearance at Upton Park before joining Peterborough in 2001 where he first made a name for himself over 2 seasons and playing over 60 games. This earned him a move to Wigan in 2003 for a fee of £275,000.

At Wigan quickly established himself in the team and helped them to promotion to the Premier League in the 2004 -5 season, followed by an appearance in the 2006 Football League Cup Final losing to Manchester United.

In 2006 he moved to Fulham for a fee of £2.5 million and then in 2009 he transferred to Hull City for a record club fee of £5 million where he spent two years, although he suffered injury spells at both clubs.

He finished his career with spells at Ipswich Town and MK Dons. The effects and at times excruciating pain of two major knee injuries had finally caught up him and so three games into his spell at League One Dons, he decided to hang up his boots and retire.

In 2014, Jimmy was a contestant in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, where he managed to last in the Australian jungle for 17 days, before being the first contestant to be voted off. After this appearance, Jimmy made regular appearances on TV discussing football, then in 2016, he became Manager for Leatherhead Football Club.

At his peak Jimmy could run games of football, with energy, enthusiasm, tempo and, most importantly, genuine quality.
