Dennis Amiss MBE
Dennis Amiss played cricket for Warwickshire County Cricket Club for 27 Years.
A right-handed batsman – he was a brilliant stroke maker particularly through extra cover and midwicket.
He was an accomplished batsman in all forms of the game and in first-class cricket he scored over a hundred centuries.
He played in 50 test matches and 18 One Day International games for England
After retiring as a player in 1987 he served Warwickshire as Chairman of the Cricket Committee and he followed David Heath as Chief Executive from 1994 until 2005.
He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Birmingham in the summer of 2007.
