David Smith
David represented Warwickshire County Cricket Club as a right-hand top-order batsman in 197 first class matches between 1973 and 1985, passing 1000 runs four times.
He was an England Under 25 and England A player in 1980 and 1981, and he played one Youth Test, top scoring against West Indies with 41 in 1974. Throughout his playing career, he also played Cricket in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and South America.
When David retired from playing Cricket, he joined the Warwickshire committee for nine years before becoming increasingly involved with Leicestershire.
He became Chairman of the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Board, Chief Executive Officer of Leicestershire CCC and an England Cricket Board Committee Member from 2007 to 2010, and then moved to Northampton CCC to become Chief Executive Officer from 2012 to 2014.
