Dara O’Briain

Dara O’Briain

Irish comedian and hugely popular host of the topical show Mock the Week on BBC2.

Dara’s debut DVD, Live at the Theatre Royal, was released following a hugely successful sell out tour across the UK and Ireland, which achieved record breaking audiences. The smash hit show, in which Dara mused on subjects as diverse as driving lessons, baguettes and the Milky Bar Kid, included Dara’s storming set on BAFTA nominated Jack Dee Live at the Apollo, a drunken commentary between fellow comedian Ed Byrne and Dara himself as well as an interview with a former Milky Bar Kid.

On television Dara has hosted Turn Back Time and the hugely popular Mock the Week on BBC2. He also appeared in the BBC2 re-creation of Jerome K Jerome’s Three Men in a Boat, which featured Gryf Rhys Jones and Rory McGrath and received record ratings of four million viewers.

More recently he has hosted Stargazing alongside Prof. Brian Cox; School of Hard Sums and Dara O’Briain’s Science Club. Other television appearances include a memorable debut on Parkinson, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, guest hosting Have I Got News For You and presenting The Last Laugh for BBC3, the largest comedy script writing competition in history.
