Archie Gemmill
Archie Gemmill started his football career at St Mirren before moving to English football with Preston North End in 1967.
After 3 years at Preston he was signed by the great Brian Clough at Derby County, where stayed until 1977 playing over 300 games for the club and winning the old First Division Championship twice.
When Clough moved to Nottingham Forest Archie followed and he spent 2 years with them wining the First Division, the League Cup twice and the European Cup. He then moved to Birmingham City for nearly 3 years, followed by a short spell playing in America then a short spell at Wigan before returning to Derby County to finish his career.
Archie was capped by Scotland 43 times and scored 8 goals, including one of the best goals of the 1978 World Cup in a game against Holland. He also captained his country on 22 occasions.
