Jonathan Edwards
Former Olympic Triple JumperJonathan is a former Olympic Triple Jumper and World Record Holder and so is no stranger to our screens.
He forms a key part of the BBC Sports team offering his commentary and advice on todays current track and field stars. Jonathan is a core ambassador for London 2012 and was appointed to the board of LCOG (London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games) having been involved in the bidding process from the outset.
He is also on the board of Ofcom. He is an Olympic champion and as of 2004 holds the world record in the event.
He initially refused to compete on Sundays due to his devout Christian beliefs a decision which cost him a chance to compete in the 1991 World Championships.
Jonathan first jumped 16m in 1986 and progressed rapidly to become the best triple jumper in Britain by 1989.
In 1990 he won the Commonwealth Silver medal despite an injured ankle. He was the Triple Jump Champion at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
